Privacy policy

1. Who is responsible

ViFz is published by P. Amini & M. Witt GbR (PAMA games), Fleiderweg 108, 50859 Köln, Germany. Questions about this policy: support@pamagames.de.

2. What ViFz stores on your device

• Clips you import, cropped and trimmed by you, saved as MP4 files with a thumbnail.
• Tags and packs you create, and which clips belong to them.
• Usage order, so the keyboard can show recently used clips first.
• Settings such as the keyboard sort order and whether you finished onboarding.

All of this lives in a storage container shared between the ViFz app, its keyboard and its Share extension on your phone. It is included in your iCloud or iTunes device backup like any other app data. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

3. What the keyboard can access

iOS asks you to grant the ViFz keyboard Full Access. The keyboard needs it for exactly two things: to read your clips from the shared container, and to place the selected clip on the clipboard so you can paste it. Without Full Access the keyboard shows an explanation and does nothing else.

• The keyboard does not log, store or transmit anything you type. The search field inside the keyboard filters your own tags and is never sent anywhere.
• The keyboard makes no network requests.
• A copied clip is placed on the clipboard as local only (it is not shared with your other Apple devices through Universal Clipboard) and expires after ten minutes.
• Usage events from the keyboard (for example “clip copied”) are written to the shared container and handed to the analytics service described below the next time you open the ViFz app.

4. Usage analytics (Google Firebase Analytics)

The ViFz app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and where it fails. Events are named after actions, for example “add flow started”, “clip copied”, “pack import result”, with a result code and coarse context such as which screen you were on or how many clips were selected.

With each event, the Firebase SDK also collects:

• a random Firebase installation ID and the identifier for vendors (IDFV), which identify this install of ViFz but not you;
• device model, iOS version, app version, language and region, screen size, and coarse location derived from the IP address by Google;
• session timing and whether the app crashed.

What is not collected: the advertising identifier (IDFA); ViFz does not include the advertising component of the Firebase SDK and never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt. No clip content, thumbnails, tag names, pack names, or typed text are ever included in an event. Analytics data is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Google processes this data on our behalf on servers that may be located outside the EU, under Google’s Firebase privacy terms and standard contractual clauses. Event-level data is kept for Google’s default retention period of two months; aggregated reports are kept while the app is published.

Legal basis in the EU/EEA: our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can stop all analytics by deleting the app; in-app analytics settings are not available in this version.

5. Sharing and exporting

• When you copy or share a clip, the video file is handed to the app you paste or share into. What that app does with it is governed by its own policy.
• A ViFz Pack (a .vifzpack file) contains the clips, thumbnails, tag names and pack name you chose to export. Anyone you send the file to can import it.
• Every clip you export carries a small ViFz watermark.
• The Share extension processes videos on your device only.

6. Permissions

ViFz uses the system photo picker and file picker, which hand over only the items you select. The app does not request access to your photo library, camera, microphone, contacts or location.

7. Children

ViFz is not directed at children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your country) and does not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction or deletion of personal data, object to processing, and complain to a supervisory authority. Because the analytics data is not linked to your identity, we cannot look up or delete the data of a specific person; deleting the app stops all further collection. 9. Changes

When this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new effective date. Material changes are also mentioned in the app’s release notes.
